Facility: Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital

ER RN: Weekend and holiday requirements, no call.

Requirements

  • Prior travel preferred
  • Charge experience is preferred
  • 1 year minimum of specialty experience
  • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required; TNCC must be active or proof of class prior to start in packet; NIHSS will be required prior to starting
  • NY license, or proof of application with applied date, required in packet at time of submission - please note NY licensing takes 6-8 weeks and we will take that into consideration with start dates/offers
  • Epic experience from within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable

  • Monday to Sunday
  • Bi-weekly Orientations on Monday
  • No block schedules for any reason

If RN has only worked with 1:4 types of ratios in their exp, this may not be the best match, as census changes frequently here. NO Blocked scheduling available Shift Hours: Shift times 7a-7p, 7p-7a; 11a-11p, 3p-31 Rotation Schedule: Rotating Self-Scheduling No Weekend Requirements: Yes Call Requirements: No Holiday Requirements: Yes Patient Population (Diagnoses): Adult and pediatric ED Age Range: neonate to geriatric Special Equipment: Phillips MP40's; IV pumps are Alaris, Monitors are Phillips MP 40's Respiratory available 24/7 for support ☒ Y ☐ N Anesthesia available 24/7 for support ☒ Y ☐ N Who manages ventilators: Respiratory Unit Specific Procedures and Protocols: Nurse manages drips (prepared by pharmacy staffed 24/7), CA II's are trained to straight stick for labs, nurses can straight stick or draw from the IV, Nurses start their own IV's (IV therapy is available certain hours of the day to assist with difficult starts) Nurses also need to know how to do their own EKG's (the CA II's are trained and can assist with this task) Nurses give their own respiratory treatments Additional Unit Specific Information: Nurse may be responsible for boarded patients, psychiatric patients, COVID patients in their general assignment. Boarder pts can be M/S, LTC, Psych, waiting on admissions, or outsourcing. Critical care ICU patients are moved consistently fast to the ICU unit. ER...has ZERO Tolerance for USE of Cell phone, or ear buds while working.
