Position Description

A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their schools in the Bronx.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8am to 4pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Call: None
  • Setting: School (year round)

  • Population: 24 students

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to children throughout the school day
  • Monitor student health status and respond to medical issues as they arise
  • Support school staff with health documentation, compliance audits, and reporting
  • Communicate with families and interdisciplinary teams when appropriate
  • Administer emergency medications as needed (e.g., seizure protocols, EpiPen)

Qualifications:

  • Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Must pass required background checks (including SCR)

Desired Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience working with children or adults with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities
  • Experience with School-based Nursing
