A Message from The Nursing Friends of Susan B. Anthony

The Susan B. Anthony Birthday Gala will be televised and livestreamed this year. A luncheon or dinner to celebrate Susan B. Anthony’s birthday in February has occurred for many years. This is the largest fundraiser for the National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House located in Rochester, New York. The museum was the home of the legendary American civil rights leader, and the site of her famous arrest for voting in 1872.

An American social reformer, champion of temperance, abolition, the rights of labor, equal pay for equal work, and a women's rights activist who played a pivotal role in the women's suffrage movement, Susan B. Anthony's work helped pave the way for the Nineteenth Amendment (1920) to the Constitution, giving women the right to vote.

The Gala's keynote speaker this year is Susan Zirinsky, acclaimed journalist and groundbreaking producer, now president and senior executive producer of CBS News.
